The Tobin School

It’s Been Another Great Year at TCS

Tobin Children's School, Natick overhead shot of campusIt’s hard to believe another school year is ending here at TCS! In addition to providing exceptional, enriching, developmentally-appropriate curriculum and care here for our 103 students (Infants up to Pre-K), here were some of the highlights:

  • We doubled our garden areas here at TCS and love taking care of our plants using our old fashioned water pump.
  • We welcomed two wonderful children’s book authors for visits here at Tobin, as well as a local Dentist and Hygienist to teach us about dental health.
  • Preschool and PreK had a great year of fun Physical Education classes with Coach Kelsy.
  • We were able to bring back The Action Bus gymnastics optional (the old Tumblebus) for our PS and Pre-K students.
  • We had another wonderful year of visits in all our classrooms by Mr. Matt and his animals & our amazing Spanish teacher, Stefania Sorrenti.
  • Through our connection with The Early Childhood Professional Association (TECPA) we offered 15 professional development programs to our Tobin educators on a wide variety of topics to support their growth.
  • We welcomed our first student teacher here at TCS since before COVID.
  • Our PreK classrooms went on two field trips this year; to Honey Pot Hill Orchard and the Franklin Park Zoo.
  • We held our 17th Annual Tobin Family Volunteer Fair in November, again as an in-person again on our campus. Projects from this great family event helped support a number of worthy non-profit organizations.
  • We supported other community service projects this past year including raising money for endangered dolphins, supporting Family Promise Metrowest, and supplying donations to Natick Service Council and A Place to Turn.
  • We held a super Annual TCS Art Show in April showcasing art by all of our 9 TCS classrooms. It was very well attended by both our families and faculty.
  • We had a lot of fun with our annual classroom Pumpkin Display in October.
  • We celebrated an amazing Week of the Young Child in April with a pizza lunch, concert on the turf field, planting pansies around campus, and creating beautiful artwork.
  • We added new tents to our Loose Parts and Mud Kitchen area.
  • We resurfaced our infant, toddler, Preschool  & Pre-K playgrounds, as well as our large field with beautiful new turf. Next up is sandbox construction.
  • And for the 6th year in a row, we were named Boston Parent’s Paper Top Ten Family Favorites here at TCS!

Our new school year begins on July 10, 2023. Can’t wait to see what the new year will bring!
